I received your blessing for the coming year, may it be good and sweet, and "whoever blesses will be blessed" with G‑d's abundant addition beyond the principal.

I have long wanted to bring up the following matter to your attention, and I will use this opportunity—especially since these days are a time of favor Above and below. Many people strive to create an eternal remembrance in a fitting manner for their departed relatives and, to distinguish between the living and those who have passed, also for themselves or their living relatives. My revered father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, also demonstrated the great value of this matter by printing several Chassidus books for such merit and instructed that it be noted on the title page that it was printed for this purpose. As you have surely seen in the Toras Shmuel volumes found in Paris, others among Anash have also adopted this practice.

Therefore, with my father-in-law's agreement, I suggest that you also take upon yourself to sponsor the printing of one of several ready-to-print Chassidus books in memory of your parents of blessed memory. The greatness of this merit and satisfaction it brings to their souls—since you are their successor and continue their work in Torah and mitzvos—surely needs no further explanation for someone like yourself.

The following are being prepared for print: (a) The tzt"z's book on Shemos vol. I; (b) The book of maamarim from my father-in-law from 5704–5705; (c) The Rosh Hashanah 5708 maamar series. The printing costs can be paid over several months if paying all at once is difficult—as long as we can rely on receiving the full amount at set times. The approximate costs are: for either (a) or (b) above (after accounting for part of the cost being recouped through sales), two thousand dollars; for (c), one thousand dollars.

You might wonder why I am suggesting such a sum, but I am confident that when you reflect—even a little—and consider that this is for your parents' elevation and your relationship with them as you should have, you will willingly accept one of these proposals. Please notify my father-in-law immediately about your decision.

And regarding the new year: when one demonstrates to the Aibershter a broad stance and begins something in Torah and mitzvos—especially in Pnimiyus HaTorah—the entire year proceeds likewise both materially and spiritually.
