Shalom u'Vrachah!

In your letter from the 24th of Elul, in response to your question regarding the congregation saying "Zachreinu," etc., and in the book during the repetition of the Chazan's prayer: Your custom is explicitly approved by my father-in-law, the Rebbe shlita, that the congregation repeats and writes and signs in the book and also on Yom Tov.

What you wrote that there are those who also repeat "Zachreinu" and "Mi Kamocha," and it seems to you that this is how it should be because what reason is there to differentiate between them and "V'Chotveinu," etc.? I have heard about this custom of yours, and I have always wondered about repeating "Mi Kamocha," for it is not a request for mercy but rather a recounting of the praise of the Omnipresent.

The reason our custom is not to repeat "Zachreinu," it seems to me, is because the request of "Zachreinu L'Chaim" is a minor request; therefore, the congregation does not say this after already having said "V'Chotveinu L'Chaim Tovim," whereas the Chazan does. He says "V'Chotveinu," etc., so that his prayer will flow smoothly from his mouth.

Regarding sending from matters of Otzar HaChassidim and Melach: let me know how many copies to send from each one. Some time ago I asked if any manuscripts of Rashag Osterman's commentaries on Tanya were found (in order to return them), but I did not receive a clear answer.

I will conclude with blessings for a good inscription and sealing for a good year.
