קבלתי מכתבו מב' צו, ושמחתי לקרות בו שכבר הסתדר ויש לו האפשרית להחזיק בשיעורי תורה וגם בתהלים.
גם שואל חוו"ד, אשר בהיותו ב... קבל ע"ע מפני כמה טעמים שיעורים בס' תהלים, וחפצו לדעת אם יחזיק בהם גם עתה בהיותו באה"ק ת"ו, ובפרט שאז לא ישאר לו כ"כ זמן ללמוד גמרא כפי שרוצה.
הנה דעתי, מאחר שמנהג אמירת תהלים במדה כזו מחזיק בו זמן רב הנה אע"פ שנראה לו שהסיבה כבר לא ישנה, בכל זאת צריך להמשיך אמירת התהלים כמו עד עתה, ואין לדעת מה יקר יותר אצל הקב"ה ובפרט שמנהגו טוב זה הוא מכמה וכמה זמן.
ובטח קרא סיפורים בדבר מעלת אמירת תהלים שבספרים הקדושים ובפרט בספרי חסידות.
ולקראת חג הפסח הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה הנני בזה לברכו ואת ב"ב שי' בברכת חג, חג פסח כשר ושמח.
וכהיעוד המקווה כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות, יזכנו השי"ת בעגלא דידן לגאולה האמיתית והשלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו.

I received your letter from the 2nd of Tzav, and I was pleased to read that you have already settled in and have the opportunity to maintain your Torah study sessions as well as Tehillim.
You also ask my opinion: since when you were in... you accepted upon yourself for several reasons to recite daily portions of Tehillim, you wish to know if you should continue this now that you are in Eretz HaKodesh, especially since it will leave you with less time to study Gemara as you would like.
My view is: since the custom of reciting Tehillim in such a measure has been your practice for a long time—even though it may seem that the original reason no longer applies—you should nevertheless continue reciting Tehillim as before. We cannot know what is more precious before the Holy One, blessed be He, especially since this good custom has been yours for quite some time.
Surely you have read stories about the greatness of reciting Tehillim found in holy books, especially in Chassidic texts.
As we approach Pesach, may it come upon us and all Israel for good, I hereby bless you and your family with blessings for the festival—a kosher and joyous Pesach. And as is hopefully promised: 'KeYemei Tzeischa MeEretz Mitzrayim Arenu Niflaos' (As in the days when you left Egypt I will show you wonders), may Hashem grant us speedily in our days the true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
