Section 601 - Order of the Second Day of Rosh Hashanah

1. On the second day, we pray Shacharis and Musaf as on the first day.

And we read from "And G‑d tested Avraham" until the end of the section, in order to mention the binding of Yitzchak.

And the Maftir reads from the Torah as yesterday.

And the Maftir in Yirmiyah, "So said..." etc. until "Is Ephraim a precious son to Me..." etc.

Because the obligation of the day is to mention remembrances.

And in that context it is said, "I will surely remember him again, therefore My inner self yearns for him..." etc.

2. And on Motzaei Rosh Hashanah, we recite Havdalah both in the prayer and over the cup, as on Motzaei Shabbos.

Except that we do not bless over spices or over fire, as on other Motzaei Yom Tov.
