Our friend Mr. Shlomo sheyichyeh Midanchik passed on to me your letter as well as your request for a blessing, regarding the coming new year for us and all Israel for good and blessing.
I hereby express my blessing to him and all that is his, and through him to all the IDF personnel under his command, may they live: a blessing for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year both materially and spiritually. Especially that they should succeed—may Hashem Yisbarach, Guardian of Israel—help them in their most responsible role. And very soon we will merit the fulfillment of the longed-for promise: "Vayishkon Yisrael Betach..." ("And Israel shall dwell securely...") and "Venatati Shalom BaAretz..." ("And I will grant peace in the land...")—a land upon which the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are always from the beginning of the year until year's end.
