The force that draws in and sustains, etc., of every yeshiva are its leadership, the mashpiim, and the administration (those who dedicate themselves for the benefit of the students, who care that the students continue in yeshiva with satisfaction and thrive there, who do not spare their own effort, time, and energy, etc., and do everything within their power to bring in more students—for when there is no addition, there is a deficit. And so forth).
From this it is understood that when it appears to the students that such qualities are lacking—especially when evidence is brought from actual deeds (or more accurately—from the absence of proper actions for this purpose) over many years—there is no other solution except to demonstrate to the students that these qualities are present in full (not through words, but through actual deeds).
Summary
True leadership in a yeshiva is shown through dedicated action for students’ benefit. When students sense a lack of care or effort from their leaders, only real deeds—not speeches—can restore trust and foster growth.
