B"H, after the fifteenth of Av, 5733.
Brooklyn, NY.
Shalom u'Vrachah! Blessings and peace!
Your letter was received, and may Hashem fulfill the wishes of your heart for good.
As we come from a day which, according to the words of our Sages of blessed memory, holds special significance for the daughters of Israel—especially regarding preparation for family life, running a household, etc.—as our Sages recount in their teachings: on the fifteenth of Av, the daughters of Israel would go out and dance in the vineyards and what would they say, etc. "A woman who fears Hashem is to be praised" (end of Tractate Ta'anit; see there at length).
As with every matter in Torah, there is a general lesson here for every Jewish woman and for all generations—including every married woman and mother—to strive as much as possible in educating herself and her daughters in purity and awe of Hashem, so that every Jewish daughter is worthy of being called "akeres habayis" (mainstay of the home), which is an unparalleled merit and responsibility. The foundation and main point here is: "A woman who fears Hashem is to be praised."
And just as with all matters in Torah—which is called a Torah of kindness and a Torah of life—a lesson for daily living—this draws down Hashem's kindness in this matter specifically and in general—in all that is needed.
Furthermore—and this too is essential—since Torah is a Torah of kindness, it follows that everything it demands and all responsibility it places—including what was mentioned—is first given the strength and courage to carry out the mission and responsibility fully and with joy. Nothing stands in the way of willpower.
May it be His will that you share good news regarding all that was mentioned, including good tidings about what you wrote in your letter.
Blessings for success and good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that after Tu B'Av is an especially meaningful time for Jewish women to focus on their unique role within the family. By embracing education in holiness and awe of Hashem with joy, women are empowered to fulfill their responsibilities fully.
