Explain (also to her daughter, may she live) — that this (her daughter's desire) is similar to someone who says (and there are unfortunately many like this, especially in our times) that they want, G‑d forbid, to destroy their own soul and take pleasure in it, etc. And her aforementioned desire is even worse than this (since this is a disaster that continues throughout all the years one lives afterward — as is well known from statistics regarding intermarriage: the high percentage of divorces, separation, disputes, etc., which are revealed and spoken about openly. And even more than this — the percentage who are ashamed to reveal their tragedy, etc.).
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that intermarriage brings lasting harm far beyond temporary mistakes, with consequences that endure for years. He urges clear explanation of these dangers using both reason and real-world evidence.
