Your letter was received pleasantly and with appreciation, as well as your personal message delivered by the one who merited the lottery, Mr. Shlomo sheyichyeh Edelman, a resident of Rechovot, who also brought greetings from you and your colleagues in the city council.
I have already stated in such matters what is clearly written in the verse: 'Va'avarecha Mevarechecha' ("And I will bless those who bless you"), that whoever blesses is blessed by Hashem, the Source of blessings, from His full, open, holy, and generous hand.
As we approach the new year that is coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all that is yours, to all members of the city council and all residents of the city—may they live—for a ketivah v'chatimah tovah for a good and sweet year, with abundance. May you merit fulfillment of what is written at the end of your letter: 'Ki Atah Hirchiv Hashem Lanu U'farinu Ba'Aretz' ("For now Hashem has given us ample space and we have been fruitful in the land")—both materially and spiritually together.
