זה זמן ארוך מאז קבלתי מכתבה ואף על פי שאני שואל ומקבל ידיעות מבני המשפחה, אבל לא דומה משמועה ישרה, ואשמח לקבל בשורות טובות ממנה ובני ביתה שיחיו.
סיבת כתבי לה דוקא עכשו היא שכיון שבאים אנו מיב-יג תמוז, שבודאי יודעת פרשת ימים אלו, הרי שעת הכושר היא להתעוררות להוספה בפעולות להפצת והחזקת היהדות, ובפרט אלו שזכו ונמצאים הם בארצנו הק' ת"ו, ובפרט בירושלים עיר הקודש, הרי שזכותם ובמילא האחריות שלהם מחייבים השתדלות יתרה בזה.
ויהי רצון שתבשר טוב בכל האמור.

Mrs. Golda Warhaftig, blessings and peace! It has been a long time since I received your letter, and although I inquire and receive updates from family members, it is not the same as hearing directly. I would be glad to receive good news from you and your household.
The reason I am writing to you specifically now is because we are approaching the 12th–13th of Tammuz. You surely know the significance of these days; therefore, this is an opportune time for renewed inspiration to increase activities in spreading and strengthening Judaism—especially for those who have merited to be in our Holy Land, and particularly in Jerusalem, the Holy City. Their merit—and consequently their responsibility—requires extra effort in this regard.
May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding all of the above.
