The administration of the Shomrei Shabbos Gemilus Chassadim Society, may Hashem be upon them for life—Shalom u'Vrachah!
On the day concluding and sealing after Shabbos Parshas Matan Torah—which begins with gemilus chassadim and ends with gemilus chassadim—I am pleased to acknowledge receipt of your notice that on Motzaei Shabbos Parshas Im Kesef Talveh Es Ami, Parshas Shekalim—whose conclusion and seal in the Torah reading is: Ki Sisa... lechaper al nafshoseichem ("When you take... to atone for your souls")—and as is known from our Sages: Moshe said before the Holy One, blessed be He: 'With what will Israel's merit be raised?' He replied: 'With Ki Sisa' (charity), the annual gathering of the society and Melaveh Malka, Seudas Dovid Malka Meshicha (the meal of David King Messiah), will take place according to your good custom every year. May it be in a good and successful hour, adding to all previous activities and ascending higher—as per the command (which is also an empowerment): "Ma'alin bakodesh" (we ascend in holiness). Surely you are doing so now and will continue in this manner in the future—with appeasement, a pleasant countenance, joy (as added in Tanya), and a good heart. Through this, you gladden the heart of those in need of gemilus chassadim and uplift their spirit, as is evident in practice. All this is especially essential regarding charity—and particularly gemilus chassadim.
May it be G‑d's will that through this, even more quickly will come fulfillment of the promise: "You shall raise up Israel's stature and their honor." Charity (and gemilus chassadim) is great because it brings redemption closer—as above—measure for measure but many times over—with a pleasant countenance, joy, and a good heart. For as "Like the days when you left Egypt," so too will Israel go out with an upraised hand; for "He hears the poor," Hashem... "G‑d will save Zion and build cities of Yehudah; they shall dwell there and possess it; the seed of His servants shall inherit it; those who love His name shall dwell therein."
With honor and blessings for success in all the above—and may you wear them as a crown.
