I gratefully acknowledge receipt of your letter and was pleased to learn that you recently met with our friends in our holy land at a Hanukkah gathering.
The events of Hanukkah hold special significance in our times and current situation. As expressed in the prayer: 'the L‑rd, King of Israel and its Redeemer, delivers the mighty into the hands of the weak, the many into the hands of the few, the impure into the hands of the pure, the wicked into the hands of the righteous, and sinners into the hands of those who engage in Your Torah.'
The beginning of this is that Bnei Yisrael are not influenced by the propaganda of those who seek to assimilate among us; as it is written: 'they cleave to Hashem Elokeinu (our G‑d), Rock of Israel and its Redeemer.' And Hashem Elokei Yisrael walks among their camp to save them and deliver their enemies before them—until the fulfillment of the promise: 'And I will grant peace in the land and you shall lie down with none to make you afraid.'
With respect and blessings for success and good news in all matters mentioned in your letter.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that Hanukkah's miracles are especially relevant today. By holding fast to faith and Torah despite external pressures or propaganda, Jews merit Divine protection and eventual peace. The message is one of resilience and unwavering trust in G‑d.
