I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter, and as you requested in your letter, I read it at the Tziyun. May it be G‑d's will that you share good news among us, and surely you will not withhold any good tidings from informing us.
With particular satisfaction I repeated at the farbrengen of Yud Tes Kislev one of the maamarim of the Alter Rebbe from the booklet "Ani Yesheinah" (Taf Kuf Samech Chet), which is now being prepared for publication in connection with your birthday (if I am not mistaken). I requested and urged that it be published promptly and distributed so that even those who were not present at the repetition of the maamar during Chanukah can study it—days which have an inner and all-encompassing connection to the matters of Yud Tes Kislev, whose point is spreading the wellsprings outward. For also during Chanukah there is a similar idea: "at the entrance of his house outward," and in a manner that increases and continues.
May it be G‑d's will that so it should be for each and every one of our brethren wherever they are, in this manner—and as concluded in the letter of the Alter Rebbe upon his release to Rabbi Tzvi etc. Moharlitz from Berdichev: "And when I read in Tehillim in the verse 'Padeh v'Shalom Nafshi' ('He has redeemed my soul in peace') before I began the next verse, I left in peace from Hashem's peace"—three times (which constitutes a chazakah): peace.
With blessings for illuminating days of Chanukah, with honor and esteem—and to wear [the crown].
I was greatly pleased by the news that even during your visit to Paris you succeeded in drawing close Mr. P... etc., specifically through conversations that went beyond protocol—even until your visit here and our conversation then.
