Today, on the birthday of the holy Admor Rashab nbg"m zya"a, founder of Tomchei Temimim in Lubavitch—which after many wanderings was transplanted to America by the holy Admor Rayatz nbg"m zya"a—I come with this message.

This year on Simchas Torah marks seventy years since the sacred address delivered by the founder of the yeshiva, which was given in connection with the third anniversary of Tomchei Temimim's founding. In that talk, the Rebbe foresaw a time of cherpu ikvos Meshichecha (those who scorn and push away the footsteps of our righteous Moshiach). He then expressed his firm hope that the students—the temimim—would serve as a counterforce and be those self-sacrificing men of valor, Torah soldiers who would drive away darkness and hasten redemption.

In our generation we see clearly how the eternal words of the founder of Tomchei Temimim are being fulfilled. On one hand, we see a generation of youth who are unfortunately very confused—internally torn and externally unrestrained and destructive. But on the other hand, we see yeshiva youth—especially students of Tomchei Temimim—as living examples for how Jewish youth should conduct themselves: nerot le'ha'ir (lights to illuminate), lights that shine and brighten their surroundings with the radiance of ner mitzvah v'Torah or (the light of mitzvah and Torah), and with the luminary within Torah—the teachings of Chassidus. They justify the great hopes placed upon them by the founders of Tomchei Temimim—our Rebbeim nbg"m zya"a.

In the coming weeks before the annual celebration for Merkaz HaYeshivos Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch, I hope and am certain that Anash specifically—and lovers and supporters of Torah in general—will respond warmly to the call from administration to do everything each one can to ensure that this annual celebration is carried out with great success—not only spiritually but also materially—to provide necessary financial assistance so that the yeshiva can continue its holy work and fulfill its founder's intent to its fullest extent; meaning in a manner of "increasing and continuing to increase in light."

May Hashem Yisbarach help every single one to fulfill all that was mentioned above. This is also a channel and vessel for fulfilling all your heart's wishes for good and blessing—for yourselves and your families—in all material and spiritual needs together.
