לקראת חג המצות, זמן חירותנו, הבא עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה, הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לחג כשר ושמח ולחירות אמיתית, חירות מדאגות בגשם ומדאגות ברוח – מכל דבר המעכב עבודת ה' בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
ולהמשיך מחירות ושמחה זו בימי כל השנה כולה.
ובפרט שעבודת השם, כמצווה עלינו בתורתנו תורת חיים, הרי היא בכל עניני האדם ובמשך כל היום וכל הלילה,

ולמרות טרדות החג, תקותי שעוד ימים אלו יתחילו בחיפוש בכתבי היד להשוות מאמרים וכו' הנ"ל מביכל לביכל, ובפרט אשר חלק מהמאמרים לקוחים מביכלעך שלא היו באוצר הכת"י של כ"ק מוהרש"ב וכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, כי אם בא לידי אחר כך, על כן הכרחית עוד יותר ההשוואה עם הנמצא בהביכלעך שבאוצר כת"י של רבותינו נשיאינו.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
As we approach Pesach, the Festival of our Freedom, which is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I hereby extend my blessing for a kosher and joyous holiday and for true freedom—freedom from material and spiritual worries—from anything that hinders serving Hashem with joy and a glad heart. May this freedom and joy continue throughout the entire year.
Especially since serving Hashem, as we are commanded in our Torah of life, encompasses all aspects of a person's life and throughout every day and night, as it is said: 'Bechol Derachecha Da'eihu' (In all your ways know Him).
With appreciation and respect and with holiday blessings to you.
I received with special pleasure the news that you hastened to contribute your lofty donation toward publishing and printing the discourses of the Alter Rebbe—most of which have not yet been published.
Certainly there is no need to describe to you the greatness and importance of this matter for both individuals and the public. Even your promptness in giving the money (see Likkutei Amarim Tanya ch. 31; Kesef HaKedoshim on 'Nikhsof Nikhsafta LeBeit Avicha') is noteworthy. I believe I have already pointed out previously in Tanya Iggeret HaKodesh ch. 21 about the great virtue of alacrity in such matters.
Despite the preoccupations of the holiday, I hope that even during these days you will begin searching through manuscripts to compare these discourses from booklet to booklet—especially since some are taken from booklets that were not in the manuscript collection of Rabbi Shmuel or Rabbi Chaim Avraham but only came into my possession later. Therefore it is even more essential to compare them with those found in our Rebbeim's manuscript collection.
My prayer and hope is that the merit of benefiting many will stand by you—that it will be accomplished properly: words of living G‑d that enliven all who receive them so they become a true source of life according to our Torah within their own four cubits and throughout their environment—and in accordance with 'hafatzat hamaayanot chutzah' (spreading forth the wellsprings).
This merit will stand by you and all yours for long and good life in every sense; the merit of benefiting many assists you.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that supporting Torah publication brings blessings for true freedom—materially and spiritually—and benefits both oneself and others. Alacrity in mitzvahs amplifies their impact, especially when spreading Chassidus widely.
