מובן אשר מזמן לזמן דורש אני מהנעשה את מר והניתנה לו כבר האפשריות לנצל הכוחות והכשרונות שחונן בהם, ניצול כפי האפשרי והדרוש, ומצערני שעד עתה לא נתגשם הענין. ותקותי שלמרות זה הרי מצדו יעשה כל התלוי בו למצוא אפשריות האמורה, והרי החברות בכנסת לאו דוקא כלל להשגת תכלית האמורה, ובפרט שכפי ההוראה

חכמינו ז"ל המעשה הוא העיקר, והרי חלק המעשי הוא דוקא מחוץ לכתלי הכנסת.
ומסיימים בטוב ובתודה אשר ממשיך לייעץ את אנ"ש שיחיו בעניניהם ולעזרם ככל יכלתו, ובודאי יעשה כן גם בעתיד.
ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור, כולל ניצול לטוב דהכשרונות שלו ויכלתו בזירה הציבורית.

Shalom u'Vrachah! After a long break, your letter was received, in which you write about the elections and the atmosphere that prevailed—and even more so dominated—in the days and weeks beforehand. May it be G‑d's will that here too the saying "Gam zu l'tovah" (this too is for good) will be fulfilled, as is well known—the idea that even something which at first glance appears undesirable or bad will turn around and become good.
My intention is that the enthusiasm and energy used by the parties to fight each other should from now on be utilized solely for the benefit of all of Israel and each individual Jew—the true good—as our Sages say: "Good for Heaven and good for people" together. And since Hashem is all-powerful, even though naturally this does not seem easy at all—can anything be wondrous for Him?
It is understood that from time to time I inquire about what is happening with you and whether you have already been given opportunities to utilize your G‑d-given strengths and talents as much as possible and as needed. It pains me that until now this has not materialized. Still, I hope that despite this you will do everything within your power to find such opportunities. Membership in the Knesset is not necessarily required to achieve this goal—especially since our Sages taught us that "action is paramount," and practical work actually takes place outside the walls of the Knesset.
I conclude with thanks for your continued advice to our community in their matters and your help to them as much as you can; surely you will continue to do so in the future as well. May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding all of this—including using your talents and abilities for public service.
