Shalom u'Vrachah!

Mrs. Shifra Yehudit, may she live. Blessings and peace!

I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter and the previous one. Fortunate is your portion that you have merited and succeeded in encouraging many souls among the daughters of Israel—each one a daughter of Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, and Leah—in their unique situation as women who have lost their husbands (may they be separated for long life).

Certainly, certainly the words of our Sages are true: "He who responds first is answered first," that may Hashem encourage you and strengthen your spirit in your own situation. For only He arranges all events, and only He knows the reasons for His conduct in our world; but it is clear and known that everything the Merciful One does is for good.

As discussed in many places by our Sages and written many times by the greats of Israel: there is no wonder at all that a created being cannot understand the ways of the Creator—there is simply no comparison between them—except in those points where the Creator in His great kindness chose to reveal His wisdom and will to His creations.

If regarding all matters of goodness and holiness our Sages said "the Holy One helps him," how much more so in such a great trial as this—not to question the ways of the Creator regarding the tragedy of losing a husband and father to children. And Hashem's help—He Who is true G‑d—certainly also means that the help (and in this case, consolation) is based on truth, even if we do not understand it.

My strong hope—based on what I have learned about your noble work in the past—is that with even greater strength you will continue this work in coming days; "as water reflects a face to a face," so too will those women with whom you connect be inspired to participate and help in this initiative as you do. Together you will broaden the channels for receiving Hashem's blessing for everything needed by each one of them and their households—through strengthening daily conduct according to our Torah of life given by the living G‑d—and most importantly: raising their children for Torah, marriage, and good deeds with abundance.

Merit is brought about on an auspicious day; for several reasons this letter was written between Yud Kislev (the redemption of Admor HaEmtza'i) and Yud-Tes Kislev (the redemption of Admor HaZaken), which are also our redemption and salvation—that each one will be redeemed from confusing thoughts and from anything distracting her from fulfilling her mission: every faithful daughter of Israel's role—to lead her home as a Jewish home and educate her sons and daughters in the spirit of Israel Saba so they become a source of pride for our people.

This also brings satisfaction and the highest merit to the souls of those who have passed—the husband and father—when they look from the World of Truth and see sons and daughters walking on the path of truth—the upright path charted by the King of Kings, Hashem blessed be He.

May it be G‑d's will that—as fits with this month's conclusion during Chanukah—from now on there should be ever-increasing light day by day; may Hashem illuminate each one's life so only true goodness and revealed kindness will always be found by them.

With blessings for Chag HaGeulah (Festival of Redemption) and increased success in this initiative—and for good news regarding all mentioned above.
