צו דער בעפארשטייענדער חגיגת הסיום ביום ד' ד' תמוז, הבע"ל, שיק איך מיין באגריסונג און ברכה צו די מסיימים, ווי אויך צו די ר"מים, מנהלים, מחנכים און אלע תלמידים, שיחיו. השם יתברך זאל געבן, אז די חגיגה זאל ארויסרופן די געהעריגע דערמוטיגונג און כוחות הנפש צו שטייגען אין אלע ענינים פון תורה ומצוות.
אויב דאס איז דער צוועק פון א חג הסיום שנה שנה, על אחת כמה וכמה - ווען דער חג הסיום - ווי היינטיגס יאר - קומט פאר אין שנת השבע שנת השמיטה, וואס ווערט אנגערופן "שבת לה'" און איז צוגעגליכן געווארן צו שבת-קודש,
וואס שבת איז דאך - אפילו שינה בשבת תענוג, כאטש אין דער צייט פון שלאף איז דער שכל - דאס העכסטע אין מענטשן - אויך איינגעדרעמלט. דאס ווייזט, אז אלע ענינים פון מענטשן, אפילו די געוויינלעכסטע - ווי שלאפן - דארפן זיין געהייליגט צו ג-ט.
על דרך זה איז דער ענין פון שמיטה. אין דעם יאר פון שמיטה זיינען געווען פארבאטן בלויז די פארשידענע מלאכות וועלכע זיינען פארבונדן מיט ערד-ארבעט, אבער אלע אנדערע מלאכות זיינען ניט באשרענקט געווארן. האט אבער די תורה געפאדערט, אז אויך אין די אלע אנדערע באשעפטיקונגען פון טאג-טעגלעכן לעבן א גאנץ יאר זאל זיך מערקן דער "שבת לה'" - אין צוגאב צו דעם וואס די באפרייטע צייט פון ערד-ארבעט זאל געווידמעט ווערן צו לימוד התורה וקיום המצוות מיט מער טיפקייט און אינערלעכקייט.
עס איז דעריבער צו האפן, אז די חגיגת הסיום וועט דורכגעפירט ווערן אונטערן איינדרוק און אין דעם גייסט פון שמיטה, וואס די השפעה פון דעם יאר פון שביעית האט זיך געדארפט פילן אויך אין אלע איבעריגע יארן, פונקט ווי די השפעה פון שבת דארף זיך פילן אין אלע טעג פון דער וואך.
השם יתברך זאל מצליח זיין יעדן איינעם פון די מסיימים, בתוככי כל תלמידי הישיבה, שיחיו, צו דערפילן די אויפגאבע און שליחות וואס דער מייסד הישיבה, זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, האט ארויפגעלעגט אויף די תמימים, צו זיין נרות להאיר מיט דעם אור תורת הנגלה און אור תורת החסידות, אין דער פולסטער מאס, בשמחה ובטוב לבב.
בברכה להצלחה מופלגה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד ולבשורות טובות

Students of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch for the Siyum celebration, Montreal, may Hashem be upon them and grant them life.
Shalom u'Vrachah!
Regarding the upcoming Siyum celebration on Wednesday, 4 Tammuz, may it be with success, I send my greetings and blessings to the graduates as well as to the teachers (Ramim), administrators, educators, and all students. May Hashem grant that this celebration will inspire proper encouragement and inner strength to advance in all matters of Torah and mitzvos.
If this is the purpose of a Siyum every year, how much more so when this year's Siyum takes place in a Shemitah year—the seventh year—which is called "Shabbat LaHashem" (a Sabbath for Hashem) and is likened to Shabbat Kodesh. On Shabbat—even sleep on Shabbat is a delight—although during sleep the intellect (the highest faculty in man) is also dormant. This shows that all aspects of a person—even the most mundane like sleep—must be sanctified to G‑d.
Similarly is the idea of Shemitah. In the Shemitah year only certain labors connected with working the land are forbidden; all other labors are not restricted. Yet Torah requires that even in all other daily occupations throughout the year there should be felt "Shabbat LaHashem," in addition to dedicating the freed time from agricultural work to Torah study and mitzvah observance with greater depth and sincerity.
Therefore it is hoped that this Siyum celebration will be conducted under the impression and spirit of Shemitah—that its influence should be felt throughout all years just as Shabbat's influence should be sensed throughout all days of the week.
May Hashem grant success to each graduate among all yeshivah students to fulfill the mission assigned by the founder of the yeshivah—may his merit protect us—to be "candles to illuminate" with both the revealed Torah and Chassidus in fullest measure, with joy and gladness of heart.
Blessings for outstanding success both materially and spiritually together—and for good tidings.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that every aspect of life—even mundane acts—should be dedicated to G‑dliness. Especially during Shemitah, we are inspired to deepen our commitment to Torah and mitzvos with joy, carrying this influence into every day beyond special occasions.
