Havavac"h iy"a nu"n etc. Harav Nissan Chesler

Shalom u'Vrachah!

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the first of Mishpatim, as well as your book Nitzanei Nissan.

May it be the will of Hashem that He fulfill the desires of your heart for good, granting you success in strengthening kashrus in our camp—the ninth—and everywhere your influence reaches, and that you also inspire others in this matter.

Especially as explained in many places, one of the reasons for kashrus in food is that non-kosher food dulls the heart and mind, etc. From this it is understood that strengthening kashrus affects the entire Torah and its mitzvos—and this is clear.

And from one topic to another within the same theme: from the kashrus of physical food to the kashrus of spiritual food—good opinions and their opposite—that is, that the intellect in one's head should be filled with Chabad (Chochmah, Binah, Daas) of Torah: G‑d's wisdom and understanding, etc., which will give birth to good character traits in one's heart. Upon this depends a person's conduct in Torah study and mitzvah observance—even up to fulfilling what is written: "Bechol Derachecha Da'eihu" (In all your ways know Him; Mishlei 3:6). Through this, it is even more understood how essential it is for every individual to spread the teachings of Chabad Chassidus until they reach—even those who are currently—outside.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that strengthening kashrus impacts both physical and spiritual life. By ensuring kosher food and filling our minds with Chabad teachings, we refine our character and help spread holiness everywhere—even beyond our immediate circles.
