I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 18th of Iyar with its enclosure (Ashkavta d'R' Meir), and thank you for your attention in sending it to me. As I was leafing through the pages, I saw there the response regarding leap years, which as I recall has already been printed—and in greater detail—in Shu"t Or HaMeir. I am interested to know the foundations of the tradition that the answer of Rabbeinu HaZaken in Midrash Rabbah, etc., printed in the aforementioned book vol. II p. 19, was heard from Harav HaTzaddik etc., Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz.

And since everything is by Divine Providence and based on a strong foundation, I express my hope that surely your honor does not suffice with setting times for learning the inner dimension of Torah—which in our generation has been revealed through Chassidus—for yourself alone, but also does all you can to spread this study wherever possible. As is known from the holy letter of the Baal Shem Tov, this is a mitzvah whose time has come: "When your wellsprings will spread outward," then "the master will come," meaning King Mashiach.
