בהוספה לפ"ש על ידי הרב א. ח. גליצנשטיין שי', נעם לי במיוחד לקבל פ"ש מכ' על [ידי] ידידנו הרש"ז שי' שזר, שכמו שסיפר לי ראה את כ' בסמיכות ליציאתו מאה"ק ת"ו ובודאי ימסור לו פ"ש בחזרתו. תקותי שלעת קבלתו מכתבי זה כבר ממשיך בעבודתו בביתו, ואקוה שיעמיד בראש עבודתו עכשו הכנת שני כרכים שיש לו עוד בנוגע לחסידות חב"ד ולסיימם בהקדם, בפרט שהשנה היא שנת המאה וחמשים להסתלקותו של בעל התניא, ודבר בעתו מה טוב. והעשי' מתוך שמחה מוסיפה ברכה והצלחה, כידוע עד כמה הפליגו רבותינו ז"ל בענין השמחה, ובפרט שמחה של מצוה, ובנידון דידן - הפצת תורת חב"ד.
מענין לענין באותו ענין, תודה חמה ולבבית בעד ספר בר מצוה ששלח לי, ובודאי לא נצרך לדברי תהילה בעד ספר זה המצטיין אפילו בצורתו החיצונית [ושלא כדעת הטועים שחושבים שאין זה חשוב, שאף אמנם אמת שהפנימיות עיקר אבל הרי אמרו חכמינו ז"ל התנאה לפניו במצוות, טלית נאה, ציצית נאה וכו'].
איני יודע אם יש לי הצדק לחוות דעת במקצוע שאינו שלי, ואם נוגע למעשה עכשיו, אבל לדעתי רצוי שציורים בספר הנועד לנוער בגיל בר מצוה לא ידגימו דווקא שיטה מסוימה באמנות, אלא יתאימו יותר (ומה טוב - אף) לערכם וגילם. כנ"ל, אבקש סליחתו, בפרט שאין צועקין על העבר, אבל הרי כבר "הי' לעולמים" והצליח כ' להוציא ספרים בהוצאה שני', ואם כן אולי יש מקום לתיקון.
ביחוד נהניתי לראות שמתחיל ספרו בהנחת תפלין וברכתן כפשוטן, שהמעשה הוא העיקר, ולהוציא מלבן של אלו אשר, בעוה"ר [וכסגנון - א"י לא יחסר כל בה], רוצים לעוות ענין הבר מצוה, ח"ו.
בכבוד ובברכה לבריאות טובה ולהצלחה בהנ"ל ובכללות עניניו.

In addition to the regards sent through Rabbi A. Ch. Glitzenstein, I was especially pleased to receive your regards via our friend R. Shneur Zalman Shazar, who—as he told me—saw you shortly before leaving Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), and will surely convey your regards upon his return.
I hope that by the time you receive this letter you are already continuing your work at home, and I hope you will now prioritize preparing the two volumes you still have regarding Chabad Chassidus and complete them promptly—especially since this year marks the one hundred fiftieth anniversary of the passing of the Baal HaTanya, making it especially timely.
And action performed with joy brings added blessing and success, as is well known how much our Rebbeim have emphasized the matter of joy—especially joy in a mitzvah—and in our case, spreading the teachings of Chabad.
On a related note: heartfelt thanks for the Bar Mitzvah book you sent me. Surely it needs no words of praise from me for such a book that stands out even in its external appearance [contrary to those mistaken who think this is unimportant; although it is true that inner content is primary, our Sages said: "Beautify yourself before Him with mitzvos—a beautiful tallis, beautiful tzitzis," etc.].
I do not know if I am justified in expressing an opinion in a field that is not mine or if it is relevant now; but in my view it would be preferable if illustrations in a book intended for youth at Bar Mitzvah age did not specifically demonstrate one particular artistic style but rather better suited (and ideally even more so) their value and age.
As above, I ask your forgiveness—especially since one does not protest what has already passed—but after all "it has happened before," and you have succeeded in publishing books in a second edition; perhaps there is room for correction.
I was especially pleased to see that your book begins with donning tefillin and their blessings literally—for action is paramount—and to counter those who unfortunately [in their style—may nothing be lacking] seek to distort the concept of Bar Mitzvah, G‑d forbid.
With honor and blessing for good health and success in all the above and all your affairs.
