על יסוד הרושם מפגישתנו ושיחתנו ארשה לי להעיר שבנוגע לספרי שימוש בכלל יש תועלת מעשית גדולה בחוט דבוק בכריכה לסמן המקום שמפסיקים בו. בפרט כשהמדובר בספר הספרים, שבודאי הכוונה בחלוקת מתנה זו שישתמשו בספר קדוש זה לעתים הכי תכופות, ומתנאי תפקידיהם שההפסקה מצוי', שלכן משנה חשיבות לחוט שכזה.
תקותי שהאנציקלופדיא-כיס ששלח לי מאז מצא הד נכון והוא נפוץ ברבים.
בטח השתתף באופן המתאים בעצרת כ"ד טבת, ביום מלאות מאה וחמשים שנה להסתלקותו של אדמו"ר הזקן בעל התניא והשלחן-ערוך, אבי תנועת חב"ד ושיטתה. וזה מזכירני שבאנציקלופדיא הכיס שלו סיומו בערך "תניא", כרשום בזכרוני.

It was pleasant to receive your letter from the 17th of Tevet, and thank you as well for the regards and books you sent, as noted in the margin. Certainly you will continue to do so in the future, and thank you in advance.
Based on the impression from our meeting and conversation, allow me to point out that regarding reference books in general, there is great practical benefit to having a ribbon attached to the binding to mark where one leaves off. This is especially true when it comes to the Book of Books (the Tanach), where surely the intention in giving such a gift is that this holy book will be used as frequently as possible. Since interruptions are common due to one's duties, a ribbon like this becomes even more important.
I hope that the pocket encyclopedia you sent me at that time found proper resonance and has become widespread among many people.
Surely you participated appropriately in the gathering on 24 Tevet, marking one hundred and fifty years since the passing of Admor HaZaken, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, founder of Chabad and its approach. This reminds me that your pocket encyclopedia ends with an entry on "Tanya," as I recall.
