I acknowledge receipt of your letter from before Rosh Chodesh as well as your previous letter regarding the students and also the information conveyed by telephone.

I was surprised at the degree of emotional excitement that leads to two extremes, similar to what is brought in the Midrash regarding when they ascend—up to the heavens. It is already explained at length in Hilchos Deos by Rambam that the desirable path is the middle path (except in rare cases, such as someone who is ill physically or spiritually).

Certainly it is unnecessary to remind you to inform me with appropriate detail about the story of the students who were here during the holidays and about the activities resulting from this visit. Thank you in advance for suitable details.
