קבלתי מכתבו מה' שופטים, שבו מתאר מצב בריאות.. תחי' ושואל חוו"ד בנוגע למה שאמר לה הרופא:
הנה לפ"ד, בנוגע של הנתוח למרידין, אם זהו דעת שני רופאים מומחים במקצוע זה, תעשה זאת, ויתן השי"ת שיה'י בהצלחה.
ובנוגע לענין השני שמציע לה לעשות נתוח על האם, הנה בדבר זה צריכים לברר אצל הרופא מהו כוונתו בזה, אם הוא רוצה לעשות קלין אפ לגמרי, או שרק לחתוך את הטומאר, ואם הוא באופן הראשון אשר בד"כ הרופאים דארצוה"ב להוטים אח"ז, אזי ישאל ג"כ דעת עוד שני רופאים ורק אם שלשתם יחד יסכימו לעשות קלין אפ, יעשו כזה. והשי"ת יתן בלב הרופאים דיעה הישרה לכווין אל האמת והטוב, וה' ישלח דברו וירפאה ע"י רופא פלוני וסם פלוני.
במ"ש אודות... שי' ימלא כהוראת הרופאים, והעיקר בעניני אכילה ושתי' ומנוחה, און ער זאל זיין א סאלדאט להשי"ת כמו שצ"ל, וכמ"ש הרמב"ם הלכות דיעות רפ"ד: היות הגוף בריא ושלם מדרכי השם הוא.
מכתבי הכללי להתלמידים להתחלת זמן הלימודים, בטח הגיע אליו במועדו, ואקוה להתבשר ממנו טובות להתחלת הלימוד כדבעי למהוי, ובעיקר מהגדלת מספר התלמידים והתלמידות, וכפסק התורה מעלין בקדש.

I received your letter from Parshas Shoftim, in which you describe the health situation of ... may she live, and you ask my opinion regarding what the doctor told her: In my opinion, regarding the surgery for meridin, if this is the view of two expert doctors in this field, it should be done, and may Hashem grant that it will be successful.
Regarding the second matter where he suggests surgery on the mother: here it is necessary to clarify with the doctor what he means by this—whether he wants to do a complete clean-up or just to cut out the tumor. If it is the first option—which doctors in America are usually eager to do—then you should also seek the opinion of two more doctors. Only if all three agree to do a complete clean-up should it be done. May Hashem place in the doctors’ hearts a correct opinion to guide them toward truth and good, and may He send His word and heal her through such-and-such doctor and such-and-such medicine.
Regarding what you wrote about ... may he live: he should follow the doctors’ instructions—especially regarding eating, drinking, and rest—and he should be a soldier for Hashem as is fitting. As Rambam writes (Hilchos Deos ch. 4): "Maintaining a healthy and whole body is part of serving Hashem."
My general letter to students for the start of the school year surely reached you on time. I hope to hear good news from you about a proper start to learning—especially about increasing the number of male and female students—as Torah rules: one always increases in holiness.

P.S.: I am surprised that the matter concerning Mr. ... has dragged on so long; perhaps it would be worthwhile to suggest that he not wait until everything is done and machines are arranged but rather pay in advance what he intended for printing. When one shows Hashem generous conduct, He too shows generosity from Above, etc.
