נעם לי לקרוא מכתבה בו כותבת על דבר חתונתה בקרוב ועל דבר החלטתם לייסד ביתם מתאים להוראות תורתנו תורת חיים. ויהי רצון שתקיים יחד עם בחיר לבה החלטה האמורה, בפרט אשר כפי ששמעתי על משפחתה הרי גם צור מחצבתה יעמוד לה בזה.
ולא לחנם נקראה אשה "עקרת הבית" כי עיקר הנהגת הבית וכל מעמדו ומצבו תלוי בעיקר בבעלת הבית.
ובפרט בתקופתנו זו רבת המאורעות והתהפוכות, אין לך יסוד חזק ומוצק לקיום בית בישראל אלא התורה ומצוותי', שבזה תלוי כל אשרו לא רק הרוחני אלא גם הגופני, ועל אחת כמה וכמה בארצנו הקדושה, ארץ אשר עיני ה' אלקיך בה מראשית השנה ועד אחרית שנה. ואף בהתבוננות קלה, אלא שבלי דיעות קדומות ומשוחדות, דעת לנבון נקל עד כמה הדגישו המאורעות שבתקופתנו זו, הטובים וגם הבלתי-טובים, את הענין ד"אתה בחרתנו מכל העמים". ומובן שבחירת בורא העולם בנו להיות לו לעם סגולה - נותנת לנו לא רק זכויות מיוחדות אלא גם חובות מיוחדות, להאיר כל פעולותינו וחיינו היום-יומיים באור האמתי אור התורה ומצוותי', במחשבה ודיבור ובמעשה שהוא העיקר. וכן מחובתנו להפיץ ולזרוע אור תורה ומצוה, וכלשון הבעל שם טוב שמביא באגרתו יפוצו מעינותיך חוצה, מעינות אור ואהבה מיוסדים על אהבת ה' לעמו בני ישראל, שמרוב אהבתו קדשנו במצותיו דוקא, ושהם הצנור והכלי לקבלת ברכות השי"ת בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to read your letter in which you write about your upcoming wedding and your decision to establish your home in accordance with the directives of our Torah, the Torah of Life. May it be G‑d's will that you and your chosen one fulfill this decision together, especially since, as I have heard about your family, your roots will also support you in this.
It is not for nothing that a woman is called "akeres habayis" (the mainstay of the home), for the primary conduct and entire state of the home depends mainly on the woman of the house. Especially in our era, full of events and upheavals, there is no stronger or more solid foundation for maintaining a Jewish home than Torah and its mitzvos; upon this depends all happiness—not only spiritual but also physical—and all the more so in our holy land, a land where "the eyes of Hashem your G‑d are upon it from the beginning of the year to year's end."
Even with just a little contemplation—provided it is without preconceived or biased opinions—it is easy for an understanding person to see how much recent events, both good and otherwise, have emphasized "Ata Vechartanu Mikol Ha'amim" (You have chosen us from among all nations). It is understood that being chosen by the Creator of the world to be His treasured nation grants us not only special privileges but also special responsibilities: to illuminate all our actions and daily lives with the true light—the light of Torah and mitzvos—in thought, speech, and most importantly action.
It is also our duty to spread and sow the light of Torah and mitzvah. As stated by the Baal Shem Tov in his letter: "Yafutzu Maayanosecha Chutzah" (Your wellsprings shall spread outward)—wellsprings of light and love founded on G‑d's love for His people Israel; out of His great love He sanctified us through His commandments specifically. These are the channel and vessel for receiving Hashem's blessings both materially and spiritually together.

Summary
