Shalom u'Vrachah!
...And you write that this leads to disputes with P. and his family—there is a clear ruling in our holy Torah that one who refuses to litigate before the local rabbinic authority (at least through a zabla process) is acting against the Torah, which is the wisdom and will of the Holy One, blessed be He—He and His wisdom are one. Therefore, he harms himself, his household, and all those who assist him—not only spiritually in the World to Come but also physically in this world. However, since G‑d is a merciful Father, He grants him extra time—perhaps in the end he will repent with kindness and mercy and return from rebelling against G‑d.
From this it is also understood that anyone who has a dispute with P. about this matter is actually his true friend; whereas anyone who assists P. is a companion to P.'s evil inclination—whose craft is to incite him to fight against Torah and its commandments.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that refusing rabbinic arbitration opposes Torah and brings harm both spiritually and materially. True friendship means guiding others toward Torah solutions; supporting opposition aligns one with negative influences rather than helping resolve conflict.
