נעם לי לקבל מכתב כמה מהמשתתפים בהתוועדות האמורה ובתוכה גם חלוקת הש"ס, מתאים לבקשת והוראת בעל השמחה רבנו הזקן, בעל התניא (פוסק בנסתר דתורה) והשולחן ערוך (פוסק בנגלה דתורה) בקונטרס אחרון שלו, לגמור כל הש"ס בכל שנה וכו'.
אשר דברי צדיקים עומדים לעד ופועלים פעולתם - בכל הענינים אשר האגרת הקדש האמורה.
ובודאי לדכוותייהו למותר להדגיש קישור הענינים אשר שם, ובלשון הרב, וכאו"א מהלומדים הנ"ל יגמור לעצמו כל שבוע התמניא אפי* שבתהלים קי"ט.
קישור המרומז בכללות גם בדרז"ל על הכתוב בתהלים, אוהב ה' שערי ציון מכל משכנות יעקב כו' מצלינא היכא דגריסנא (ברכות ח' ע"א).
ויהי רצון שע"י כללות שני הענינים האמורים, תורה ותפלה, חיי עולם וחיי שעה תומשך ברכת השי"ת בעניני חיי עולם, וכן לרפואה לשלום ולמזונות (כלשון רש"י, שבת יו"ד ע"א) - שלהם ושל ב"ב שליט"א.
וכשם שהתחילו במצוה האמורה, יזכו לגמרה מתוך מנוחה שמחה וטוב לבב.
ובלשון רבנו, באגרת האמורה: חזקו ואמצו לבבכם כל המיחלים לה'.

To the esteemed participants in the farbrengen connected with the day of good tidings and redemption—our redemption and the redemption of our souls—Yud Tes Kislev, 5721, who are also taking part in the division of Shas in Rishon LeTzion, in Eretz HaKodesh, may it be rebuilt and established speedily in our days through Moshiach Tzidkeinu. May Hashem be upon them for life. Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive a letter from several of the participants at the aforementioned farbrengen, which included also the division of Shas, according to the request and instruction of Baal HaSimchah—the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya (the decisor in the hidden dimension of Torah) and Shulchan Aruch (the decisor in the revealed dimension of Torah)—in his Kuntres Acharon, to complete all of Shas every year, etc.
The words of tzaddikim endure forever and have their effect—in all matters referenced by that Iggeres HaKodesh. Surely for your esteemed selves it is unnecessary to emphasize the connection between those matters there; as stated by the Rebbe: each one of those learning should complete for himself each week Temania Apay (eight faces) from Tehillim 119.
The connection hinted at generally is also found in our Sages' words on what is written in Tehillim: "Ohev Hashem Shaarei Tzion Mikol Mishkenos Yaakov" (Hashem loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Yaakov), etc., "Matzlina Heicha D'Garishna" (Berachos 8a).
May it be Hashem's will that through both these matters—Torah and prayer, eternal life and temporal life—Hashem's blessing should be drawn into matters of eternal life, as well as for healing, peace, and sustenance (in Rashi's language on Shabbos 10a)—for them and their families sheyichyu.
And just as you began this mitzvah, may you merit to complete it with tranquility, joy, and gladness of heart. In our Rebbe's words from that Iggeres: "Chizku V'Imtzu Levavchem Kol Hameyachalim LaHashem" (Strengthen yourselves and fortify your hearts—all who hope to Hashem).
