Shalom u'Vrachah!

Of the Rebbe (Maharashab), this is also the first day of leadership of the Previous Rebbe. 5720 – the two hundredth year since the histalkus hilulah of the Baal Shem Tov – zatzukal lahe nbg"m zya"a – to each and every one in Kfar Chabad – founded and led by the Previous Rebbe – may Hashem be upon them for life.

Abundant peace and blessings! As we approach Pesach, the Season of our Freedom, which is coming upon us and all Israel for good, I hereby express my blessing to each and every one of them – a kosher and happy Yom Tov blessing, a time of our freedom, freedom from all matters that disturb serving Hashem with joy and gladness of heart – for serving Hashem is an ongoing obligation that never ceases from a person (all Jews – with two yuds – from youth to elder, children and women) not even for a moment in all his days – according to the teaching of Rabbeinu HaZaken: michla d'meheimnusa (food of faith) – first night. michla d'asvasa (food of healing) – second night.

When healing brings faith—when one says "Thank You G‑d for my healing," it means he was sick. But when faith brings healing—one is never sick in the first place. May this freedom be such that no confusion or distress ever arises at all. And may they continue this freedom and joy in all their personal and communal matters together throughout the entire year.

And may it be G‑d's will that in this very year and these very days will be fulfilled what our Sages said: "At the conclusion of Shevi'is Ben David comes," and He will redeem us with the true and complete redemption—freedom in its entirety—until "u'faratzta yamah v'kedmah v'tzafonah v'negba" (and you shall spread out westward, eastward, northward, and southward).

With blessings for a kosher and happy Pesach filled with true expansiveness—and for a healthy and joyous summer.

I have sent shmurah matzah, and I request that the Vaad HaKlali of Kfar Chabad together with the spiritual Vaad and Haraha"g Haraha"ch Havaha"ch iy"a nu"m etc. HaRav Shneur Zalman shlita mara d'asra at their head—distribute it to the residents of Kfar Chabad and to select Chabad activists in Eretz HaKodesh tuchyu—shlita. And may it be G‑d's will that it accomplish its effect—the effect of michla d'meheimnusa (food of faith) and michla d'asvasa (food of healing)—in full measure.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true freedom means being free from anything that distracts from joyful service of Hashem. Faith itself brings healing; when one's trust is strong enough, illness does not arise. May we merit complete redemption soon.
