איני זוכר החשבון מי חייב מכתב למי, אבל בכל אופן כיון שזמן רב לא שמעתי ממנו ובינתים הגיעו ועברו ימי חודש כסלו, חודש הנסים והגאולה, ובפרט יום הבהיר י"ט כסלו וממנו תיכף לימי חנוכה, שענינם להוסיף אור משתשקע החמה, על פתח ביתו מבחוץ, והמובן ומכוון בפנימיות הענינים שבזה, אין להסתכל על חשבונות, וכפתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שכשני יהודים נפגשים - והוא הדין מתכתבים - יש לקוות שתצא מזה תועלת גם להם וגם לאחרים.
עובדא משמחת היא שבכמה חוגים ניכרת התעוררות בקשר עם שנת זכרון זו למלאות מאתים שנה להסתלקות-הילולא של הבעל שם טוב. ובטח עושה כ' כל התלוי בו להפצת המעינות, וכנ"ל, שצריך להיות באופן דמוסיף והולך מוסיף ואור, וינעם לי לקבל ממנו בשורות טובות בזה, וכל המפרט בכגון דא הרי זה משובח. וכמובן שלראש וראשונה כוונתי לתלמידיו ומושפעיו בחוגים השונים שהשפעתו מגעת שם, שתקותי שמתקדמים לא רק בפנימיות אלא גם בחיצוניות, וכדבר משנה, עד מעשה בפועל, והרי אמרו חכמינו ז"ל אל תהי מפליג לכל דבר, ובפרט שלפי כתבו ראה כבר ענינים שבפועל שנשתנו לטוב...
מה שכתב על דבר קונטרסים שיצאו לאור על ידי צעירי אגודת חב"ד כאן, כפי הידוע לי עדיין נמצאים בדפוס, וכשיצא לפועל בודאי שישלחו לו.

I do not recall who owes whom a letter, but in any case, since I have not heard from you for a long time and meanwhile the days of the month of Kislev have come and gone—the month of miracles and redemption—especially the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev and immediately following it the days of Chanukah, whose theme is to increase light after sunset at the entrance to one's home facing outward. The inner meaning is clear: one should not focus on calculations. As my revered father-in-law said: when two Jews meet—or correspond—one should hope that benefit will result for both them and others as well.
It is a joyful fact that in several circles there is noticeable awakening connected with this year of remembrance—the bicentennial since the passing-hilula of the Baal Shem Tov. Surely you are doing all you can to spread the wellsprings as above—that it should be in a manner of ever-increasing light—and I would be pleased to receive good news from you about this; whoever details such matters is praiseworthy.
Of course, first and foremost I mean your students and those influenced by you in various circles where your influence reaches; my hope is that they are progressing not only inwardly but also outwardly—as stated in Mishnah—even to actual deed. Our Sages said: Do not dismiss anything lightly; especially since according to your letter you have already seen things change for the better in practice...
Regarding what you wrote about booklets published by Tzeirei Agudas Chabad here: as far as I know they are still at the printer, and when they are completed they will surely send them to you.
