After a long pause, your letter from Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan was received, in which you write about your activities in the field of education and spiritual matters in general. Naturally, I was especially pleased to read about your classes with the youth group that is growing in number—and surely also in quality—even though it is understandably very difficult to see this with physical eyes. My strong hope is—though you do not mention this—that when explaining the Thirteen Principles and so on, you use every opportunity to connect these matters with practical action and even more so—with daily life. Especially since, as per the ruling of the Mishnah—the deed is what counts; it is not just a part on its own but essential for the existence of the entire matter. See also Iggeres HaKodesh of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe, section 21. It is also understood that the above expression—using every opportunity—also includes creating opportunities, since the general opportunity (i.e., your meeting with the group) is enough to establish a demand for teaching halachos needed for daily life—and this is clear.

All of the above also applies regarding the synagogue where you continue after having been there during the festivals of Tishrei. And regarding all that has been said applies our Sages' ruling: "You have labored and found [success]."

As for your listeners—even if among them are those who actually fulfill "I am asleep in exile," certainly they are included in the verse's conclusion: "but my heart is awake" (to G‑d, His Torah and mitzvos), and this can be found among them.

May it be G‑d's will that you increase in all of the above according to what is required at this time and according to last year's slogan—and also now—of "Ufaratzta" (and you shall spread forth). Additionally, this year marks two hundred years since the passing (yahrzeit) of the Baal Shem Tov; when his wellsprings spread outward, then 'the master will come'—that is King Moshiach.
