קבלתי ידיעות מאיזהו מקומן, שתלמידים ונערים בקשו להתקבל בישיבת תומכי תמימים, ולא נתקבלו מפני חוסר מקום.
הנה איני יודע נכונות הדבר, ואפילו באם הן, באם טעם האמור הי' לכסות עינים או שהיתה איזה מניעה אחרת.
ולא באתי אלא להעיר, שאם טעם הנ"ל הוא טעם האמיתי, מובן שאין לו כל שחר, כי אפילו באם בפועל אין מקום ומציאות לאכסן התלמידים וכיו"ב, מוכרח ההשתדלות בזה כו"כ, וכמדומה שמדובר כ"פ שבזמננו תלמיד הרוצה להתקבל במוסד, הענין זקוק לטפול מזורז, שהרי בכל מקום ובפרט באה"ק ת"ו באם לא ידונו על הענין בכובד ראש, ותומ"י, אפשר שלאחרי שעה קלה, כבר יוקלט באיזה מוסד הבלתי רצוי, ובודאי שהאריכות בדבר אך למותר.
ולחשיבות הענין נשלח המכתב מהיר דחוף ואצפה לבשו"ט.

I have received reports from certain sources that students and youths requested to be accepted into Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim but were not admitted due to lack of space. I do not know the accuracy of this information, and even if it is true—whether the stated reason was just a pretext or if there was another obstacle. I only wish to point out that if the above reason is indeed the real one, it is clear that it holds no weight. Even if in practice there is no room or possibility to house the students and similar issues, efforts must be made regardless. It seems this has been discussed many times: nowadays, when a student wishes to enroll in an institution, the matter requires prompt attention. For everywhere, especially in Eretz HaKodesh (the Holy Land), if the issue is not addressed seriously and immediately, it is possible that after a short while he will already be absorbed into an undesirable institution. Certainly, further elaboration on this matter is unnecessary.
Due to the importance of this issue, this letter was sent urgently and I await good news.
