ובודאי לדכוותי' למותר להאריך במאמר רז"ל שאין מספיק עשי' לחוד, אלא שצ"ל עשי' דוקא באופן כדבעי למיעבד, ומובן שכוונתי בהנוגע אליו, שגם לאחרי מה שכותב, שכשמוצא שעה לומד בנגלה ונסתר וכו', הנה מי שחונן בכח השפעה על הזולת, ברור שזהו מתפקידו הפנימי, ולא עוד שדוקא כנ"ל באופן דבעי למיעבד, ואם בכל הזמנים ובכל המקומות, השיטה דאני את נפשי הצלתי, היתה מגונה (עיין זהר ח"א ק"ו א') עאכו"כ בתקופתנו ובארצוה"ב, שבשנים אלו ניכרת התעוררות חזקה בין הצעירים לתשובה לה' לתורתו ולמצותיו, אלא שצריכים שמי שהוא יורם הדרך, ורואים במוחש, שכששומעים הדברים לא בשפתם המדוברת או ממי שהוא זקן מהם עשיריות בשנים, אין לזה השפעה כ"כ, כמו ששומעים זה בשפת המדינה וממי שקרוב אליהם בגיל, וק"ל ואין להאריך בדבר הפשוט.
ויהי רצון, שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יתחיל בהשפעה על הזולת ובהוספה בזה כהנה וכהנה, וזכות הרבים מסייעתו.

After the longest interval, your letter from the 27th of Nissan with its enclosure was received. At an auspicious time it will be read at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, zatzal.
Certainly for someone like you there is no need to elaborate on our Sages' teaching that action alone is not enough; rather, action must be done properly and as it ought to be. My intention is regarding you personally: even after what you write—that when you find time you study both Nigleh and Nistar—one who has been granted influence over others must recognize this as his inner mission. Moreover, this must be done in the proper manner. In all times and places, the approach of 'I have saved my own soul' was always looked down upon (see Zohar I 106a); how much more so in our era and in these lands, where there is a strong awakening among youth toward teshuvah to G‑d, His Torah and mitzvos. However, it is necessary that someone guide them on the path. It is clearly seen that when they hear things not in their spoken language or from someone decades older than them, it does not have as much impact as when they hear it in their own language from someone close to them in age—and this is obvious and needs no further explanation.
May it be G‑d's will that at least from now on you begin influencing others and increasing these efforts ever more; the merit of the many will assist you.
I await good news regarding all the above.
