Regarding your own studies, I have already stated to several people that there must be both study for breadth and study for depth, both in Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus. Study for breadth should be every single day, and study for depth—how good it is if it can also be every day. Regarding the students of Tomchei Temimim, this is not only very good but actually necessary. In general, our Sages taught that one should learn what his heart desires; however, it is good—understood for obvious reasons—that it be in the same tractate or discourses being learned in Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva. This way he can discuss and debate these topics with his friends. It is also well known that one's studies should include practical halachot needed for daily life—laws of Shabbat and festivals, etc.

It is extremely proper that a competition (contest) was arranged along with prize distribution. It is already known from our Torah of life: "Kinat Sofrim Tarbeh Chochmah" (the jealousy among scholars increases wisdom), and see also Rambam's commentary on Mishnayot (beginning of Chelek) regarding "Chanoch L'na'ar Al Pi Darko Davka" (educate a child according to his way specifically), and something similar is brought as a legal ruling in his Sefer Hilchot Teshuvah chapter 10.

With blessings for success in your holy work to bring the hearts of the children of Israel closer to our Father in Heaven through both revealed Torah and Chassidus—and your reward cannot be measured.
