I hereby acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 29th of Kislev, in which you write about the situation of the Shaarei Tzedek Hospital and Convalescent Home in Jerusalem, following up on our conversation during your visit.

Since you do not mention anything about preparations for the annual banquet of the committee supporting Shaarei Tzedek Hospital, I assume this means that everything is proceeding as it should. The custom in this country is that some participants make their donations even before the banquet, provided their names are announced at the event.

In any case, may it be G‑d's will that you succeed in your most important efforts to strengthen the standing and financial situation of this vital institution. Certainly, members of the local committee—many of whom are prominent and influential within the Jewish community—will cooperate to the best of their ability, as it is both their duty and privilege.
