Clarifying Duchening Customs in Eretz Yisrael

The Rebbe addresses a question about Duchening, especially on Yom Kippur, and instructs to clarify the practice in Eretz Yisrael by consulting local Kohanim from Anash, as there is surely a tradition passed down through generations. He emphasizes that actual practice outweighs what is written in books.

Gimmel Kislev 5718.

Regarding what you wrote about Duchening, especially on Yom Kippur, in practical terms you should clarify the matter in Eretz Yisrael with the Kohanim from Anash, for in such cases there is certainly a tradition passed down from father to son. Actual practice carries more weight than what is written in books.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that when it comes to customs like Duchening, especially in Eretz Yisrael, one should rely on the living tradition among Kohanim rather than solely on written sources.
