...במ"ש אודות בנו שי', - הנה כל משך הזמן משתמט מלהזכיר העיקר, והוא אשר סו"ס הסכמתי לנסיעתו לכאן, הי' זה בתנאי מפורש באם במשך שנה זו תהי' הטבה ניכרת בהנהגתו, שרק זו תשמש הוכחה שכדאית נסיעתו לכאן, ובאם לא נראית הטבה זו, מובן שהרי נשאר הנני בדעתי מאז, שטוב לפניו, וכמו שאמרתי לו בארוכה בהיותו כאן, שימשיך להיות ב... בקירוב מקום להוריו שי', ופשוט שדעתי כן, מפני שלפי הנ"ל זוהי טובתו באמת, ולכן תמי' באם לא נתקיים תנאי האמור, ההתאמצות שדוקא יסע לכאן.
...וכיון שנמצאים אנו בהימים דחתימה וגמר חתימה ואמרו רז"ל שהכל הולך אחר החתום, הנה יהי רצון שתהי' החתימה וגמר חתימה בטוב הנראה והנגלה בכל הענינים הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות, ומתוך שמחה וטוב לבב ינצל כשרונותיו אשר חונן בהם להרמת קרן ישראל סבא, אשר לנצח כח עלומיו בו כיון שקשור ודבוק הוא בזה, עליו נאמר עתיק יומין יתיב, ועל ידי קיום הציווי הדבק במדותיו מה הוא רחום אף אתה רחום כו' בא גם המסובב וכמ"ש ואתם הדבקים בה' אלקיכם חיים כולכם היום.

Regarding what you wrote about your son — throughout this time he has avoided mentioning the main point, which is that when I finally agreed to his coming here, it was on the explicit condition that during this year there would be a noticeable improvement in his conduct. Only this would serve as proof that his trip here was worthwhile. If this improvement is not seen, it is understood that I remain of my original opinion — that it is better for him, as I explained to him at length when he was here, to continue being in close proximity to his parents. It is clear that my view is based on what is truly best for him according to the above. Therefore, it is surprising if the stated condition was not fulfilled and yet there is insistence that he should come here.
And since we are now in the days of sealing and final sealing [of judgment], and our Sages said everything follows the conclusion, may it be G‑d's will that the sealing and final sealing be for good — visibly and openly — in all matters, both materially and spiritually. With joy and gladness of heart may he utilize the talents with which he has been endowed to uplift the pride of Yisrael Saba (the Jewish people), whose youthful strength endures forever because he is connected and attached to this. About him it is said: Atik Yomin Yativ ("The Ancient of Days sits"). And through fulfilling the commandment "cling to His attributes — just as He is merciful so you too be merciful," there also comes its result as it says: "Ve'atem ha'dvekim b'Hashem Elokeichem chayim kulchem hayom" ("And you who cling to Hashem your G‑d are all alive today").
