Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Erev Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av and the previous one, in which you ask about ordering parshiyos for tefillin for your family members who are of Chabad chassidic descent and are unsure in what manner they should be written.

It is surprising that there is any doubt about this, for it is a general rule and halachic decision that in the place (or community) of a Rav, one follows the Rav. Your question is based on your opinion that the desirable conduct in G‑d's eyes is what most of Klal Yisrael practice. This question is also surprising, for it is obvious that our master the Alter Rebbe also intended to establish tefillin in a manner desirable to G‑d. Clearly, in his time there were fewer people practicing as he instructed than there are now, when Chassidus has spread into many circles; yet he still commanded to establish them specifically as he taught. If only you would already stop seeking out questions and contradictions and begin walking on the straight path—preceding 'we will do' to 'we will hear'—which is the path our holy Rebbeim have shown us, a path that is also a general way for all Israel. As explained by the Maggid [who was also the teacher of the author of Hafla'ah, who was teacher of R' Nosson Adler, who was teacher of the Chatam Sofer], regarding the virtue of Shaar HaYud-Gimmel which includes all twelve gates—see introduction to Shaar HaKolel in the Siddur.

As for what you wrote—that you still do not feel able to learn or appreciate Chassidus, and additionally have time constraints—it is clear that G‑d does not make His Torah impossible (G‑d forbid), and it is written in His Torah that G‑d does not demand from His creations more than they can bear. Since you have already received knowledge about Chassidus—and moreover have even begun studying it—the full force of our Sages' command applies: (Eruvin 64a) "Anyone who says this teaching is pleasant and this one is not pleasant [i.e., even if he admits both are teachings but claims one isn't pleasant for him]—the punishment, G‑d forbid, is frightening." From all this it is clear you can do it; obstacles can be overcome. Every day that passes without learning Chassidus is an irretrievable loss—not only regarding Chassidus but also concerning study of Nigleh (revealed Torah), since in Zohar it calls Pnimiyus HaTorah 'the soul of Torah,' whereas Nigleh is called 'the body of Torah.' The terms used by Torah are precise; we see tangibly that even a small lack in the soul affects the entire body—and this should be understood.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that one should follow established Chabad customs without hesitation or searching for doubts. Commitment to learning Chassidus brings benefit not only spiritually but also enhances one's understanding of revealed Torah; obstacles can be overcome with resolve.
