... In your question regarding a teacher for secular studies—if there is a need for one, it is better that the teacher be a non-Jew, who clearly has no connection with the students except for the secular subjects being taught. One should not hire a Jewish woman who is not observant of Torah and mitzvos, even though she too is a daughter of Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, and Leah (and as is known from the saying of my father-in-law the Rebbe, one never says 'to distinguish' G‑d forbid about any Jew). It is very difficult to ensure that students will not learn from her ways, as is also evident in practice.
I await good news from the Lag BaOmer activities and am sure you are preparing a detailed plan to utilize the time of the Giving of our Torah appropriately. May Hashem grant you success.
With blessings in the wording of my father-in-law the Rebbe: to receive the Torah with joy and inwardness.
Summary
The Rebbe writes that when hiring for secular studies in a Jewish school, it is preferable to choose a non-Jewish teacher over a non-observant Jew to avoid negative influence on students. He emphasizes careful preparation for Shavuot and ongoing success in education.
