In response to your letter, merit is brought about on a meritorious day and period, as your letter was received a few days before the yahrzeit of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory. Divine Providence has granted you the privilege to use your talents in institutions that bear his name and are conducted in his spirit. If regarding every Jew the shepherds of Israel arouse great mercy for all their needs, how much more so for those who take part and participate in these institutions of such shepherds of Israel—this is the greatest pleasure one can bring to the soul.

Just as with an actual shepherd, his main role is to match the grass to the sheep and flock—as our Sages said (Shemos Rabbah 2:2), this is how David and Moshe Rabbeinu were tested as faithful shepherds—so too with the shepherds of Israel: their main role is to match the goodness drawn down through their prayers to the needs of those requiring good. This means visible and revealed good both in material and spiritual matters.

Especially now as your wedding approaches at an auspicious and successful time, for building a Jewish home on the foundations of Torah and mitzvah. It is proper that your heart be confident in the Creator and Ruler of the world—the essence of goodness—that you will be blessed with all that you need as mentioned above, and you will be happy both spiritually and materially.

With blessings for success in your holy work at the Chabad school, and for successful preparations with joy for your wedding at a good time. Awaiting good news.
