במענה על מכתבו, בו כותב אשר קבוצה מצומצמת מהמודרכות שלו באה אליו בבקשה להקצות להן שעות מיוחדות לשיחות, בהמשך לשעורים שנותן להן בתוך המסגרת הכללית, והדבר עורר ספיקות בלבו באשר הן חושבות שהוא כבר מצא דרכו ויוכל להכניסן לשער הזה, בה בשעה שלפי דעתו עודנו עומד הוא על הסף.
נהניתי ביותר מהידיעה הנ"ל, כי ידוע, ורואים זה גם במוחש, אשר לפעמים תכופות ביותר מכיר הזולת במעלותיו של חברו יותר ממה שרואה האדם בעצמו אצלו.
וככל הענינים הרי גם זה משתקף בדיני תורתנו תורת חיים, אשר אין אדם מעיד על עצמו לא רק לזכות אלא גם לא לחובה.
ונוסף על האמור בנוגע למצבו העכשוי, תקותי חזקה ג"כ אשר כל' הידוע רוח אייתי רוח ואמשיך רוח, הנה האתערותא של המודרכות והתלמידות תוסיף גם בו תוספת רוח והמשכת הרוח לגלות גם מכחותיו הנעלמים, ואין צריך לומר הגלויים, להוסיף גם בו עצמו בפנימיות האמונה ובהמשכת האמונה מבחינת מקיף לבחינת פנימי, שאז מתבטאת היא בתוספת אור וחיות ופועל בתורתו ומצוותיו של המאמין. וכבר כתבתי לכ', שאשרי חלקו שזוכה לראות פירות בעמלו וזוכה לראות גם מתן שכרו בצדו בהכשרה שלו נוספת לקליטת התורה והמצוה בכלל ועניני החסידות בפרט.
ובודאי לדכוותי' למותר להדגיש שכל פעולה טובה שפועלים בצעיר ובנוער נכפלת כמה פעמים ככה בפירותיהם ותולדותיהם, כפשוטם - לכשיבנו בית בישראל ויבורכו בבנים ובנות, וגם כמשמעו - בהפועל שלהם ושל מושפעיהם.

In response to your letter, in which you write that a small group of your students approached you requesting special hours for discussions, in addition to the classes you give them within the general framework, and this has raised doubts in your heart because they think you have already found your path and can bring them into this gate, while in your opinion you are still standing at the threshold.
I was very pleased to hear this news, for it is known—and we see it clearly—that often others recognize a person's qualities more than he sees them in himself. As with all matters, this is also reflected in the laws of our Torah of life: a person cannot testify about himself not only for merit but also not for liability.
In addition to what was said regarding your current state, I also strongly hope that—as is known: "Ruach aytei ruach va'amshich ruach" (a spirit brings a spirit and draws down a spirit)—the awakening of the students will add further spirit and draw out even your hidden strengths, and certainly your revealed ones as well. This will increase within yourself an inner faith and bring faith from its encompassing aspect into an internal one—so that it is expressed as added light and vitality and has an effect on one's Torah study and mitzvah observance.
I have already written to you that fortunate is your lot to merit seeing fruits from your efforts and to see also the reward at your side—your additional preparation for absorbing Torah and mitzvah in general and Chassidus in particular.
Certainly for someone like yourself there is no need to emphasize that every good action done with youth is multiplied many times over in its fruits and outcomes—plainly when they build Jewish homes and are blessed with sons and daughters, as well as literally—in their own actions and those they influence.
