Shalom u'Vrachah!

After a long interruption, I was pleased to receive your letter from the 19th of Teves with its enclosures. Thank you very much for writing about the farbrengen of Yud Tes Kislev, the day of our redemption and the liberation of our soul. Surely, everyone will do what is necessary to properly fulfill the resolutions taken then, and in general, that there should be visible results from the inspiration of Rosh Hashanah of Chassidus throughout the entire year. As is well known from the expression of our Rebbe, my father-in-law, on Yud Tes Kislev: "Leshanah tovah b'limud haChassidus u'darchei haChassidus tichaseivu v'seichaseimu" (May you be inscribed and sealed for a good year in learning Chassidus and its ways).

If this is true in general, how much more so regarding resolutions and awakenings accepted at a farbrengen attended by several minyanim—called a holy congregation—in a holy place in Eretz HaKodesh. It is obvious that all those who strive in this matter will continue to act accordingly in fulfilling these resolutions. They take a leading part in what they need in general, which also includes their communal efforts for the benefit of many. From this comes ever-increasing growth: "and they go from strength to strength."

The above also strengthens my confidence that you are surely making the necessary preparations for the yahrzeit (Yom HaHilula) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe—Yud Shevat may it come upon us for good—especially since this year it falls on Shabbat Kodesh, the Shabbat of Kriyas Yam Suf (the splitting of the sea), which brought about "Shirah laShem ki ga'oh ga'ah" (Song to G‑d for He has triumphed gloriously). This also contains the idea of "Hakitz'u v'ranenu shochnei afar v'hu betocham" (Awaken and sing you who dwell in dust—and he is among them), according to our Sages' teaching on this verse as brought by Rashi's commentary there. It is well known that a true leader of Bnei Yisrael—a faithful shepherd—is called by the name Moshe: "Ki ispashutah d'Moshe b'chol dara v'dara" (for there is an extension of Moshe in every generation).

Blessings for good news in all matters mentioned above and regards to all those who participated as mentioned above and all those who will participate on Yud Shevat may it come upon us for good—and upon all Israel for good.
