ויהי רצון שתהי' התחלתם בעסקנותם בשעה טובה ומוצלחת ואף שאמרו רז"ל כל התחלות קשות, בודאי לא יתרשמו מהקישוים ואדרבה הם יעוררו תוספת כח ומרץ להנהלת הענינים מתאים להכוונה הפנימית שעי"ז ילכו גם הקישוים הלוך וחסור, ויה"ר אשר חפץ ה' בידם יצליח ובהקדם יותר ובקל יותר מאשר משערים עתה.

I read your letter with pleasure, informing me about your discussion regarding the Beit Yosef Talmud Torah and that you have established both a spiritual committee and a material committee for managing its affairs, etc.
May it be G‑d's will that your beginning in this communal work be at an auspicious and successful time. Even though our Sages said "all beginnings are difficult," surely you will not be discouraged by difficulties; on the contrary, they will inspire increased strength and energy in managing these matters according to their inner purpose. Through this, even the difficulties will gradually diminish. May it be G‑d's will that what you undertake will succeed in your hands, and that it should happen sooner and more easily than you now imagine.
As my participation—at least symbolically—due to my physical distance from your location, I join in your good activities. In accordance with your decision to open an account in a bank as a fund of three thousand dollars, I am attaching my check as my participation in this fund.
