I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 11th of Marcheshvan—which was delayed in its arrival—and it is surprising that since then there has been no further news from you, nor confirmation of receipt of my letters or updates regarding what has transpired as a result.

I was pleased to read in your letter about your activities in holiness, and our master the Alter Rebbe can be trusted that his words will be fulfilled completely; I refer to what is written (in Torah Or at its beginning) that "Tzedakah elevates a nation and one's mind and heart become refined a thousand times over."

Certainly, the days of the month of Kislev—Yud and Yud-Tes Kislev—and the days of Chanukah were utilized for all the above, with the central point being spreading the wellsprings outward, through which all these matters are further increased.

Enclosed is what was recently published, and surely you will merit to benefit the many with it; the merit of the many depends on you.
