Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 10th of Kislev, the day of liberation of Admor HaEmtza'i, in which you write about Chabad Chassidim and Anash in general and their attitude toward others.

The instructions on this matter have already been given to all Chassidim and all Jews by our master the Alter Rebbe, founder of Chabad teachings, in Tanya chapter 32. This is further explained in his work Likkutei Torah (the discourse "Heichaltzu"), and with even more fiery words in Sefer HaMitzvos by his grandson Admor tzt"z on the mitzvah of Ahavas Yisrael. In connection with the upcoming bright day of Yud Tes Kislev, you should also study Iggeres HaKodesh by the Alter Rebbe that he wrote after his release from imprisonment (where he was held due to an informer's accusation), where he writes: "And therefore I have come... a great public notice to all Anash..." If regarding that specific group he issues such a great warning, how much more so regarding ordinary Jews; how much more so for a Jew whom Divine Providence has brought together with you at one inn. This is also stated by the Alter Rebbe in his well-known letter that at the time he recited the verse 'Padah b'Shalom' (He redeemed my soul in peace) he was released. The end of that verse is 'for there were many with me,' and this is clear.

I have elaborated at length on such a simple matter because I am surprised by the content and conclusion of your letter, which shows this issue weighs heavily on your soul.

I hope you will participate in the Anash farbrengen on Yud Tes Kislev—the festival of liberation of our master the Alter Rebbe. Our Sages said: "Great is hospitality for it brings people closer," and certainly it brings close those who are already close.

Awaiting good news.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that Ahavas Yisrael—love for every Jew—is central to Chassidus and must guide our interactions. He urges studying foundational texts like Tanya chapter 32 and participating in communal gatherings to strengthen unity and kindness among all Jews.
