The distinguished chassid, a G‑d-fearing man, distinguished and honored, active in communal needs, Reb Yisroel Zusman, may he live
Shalom u'Vrachah!
... Surely by the time this letter arrives you will already have received regards from the guests, may they live, who visited here, together with at least some points of the words of inspiration; may it be Hashem's will that they have their effect on thought, speech and action throughout the whole year.
With blessing for good tidings in your personal affairs and in communal matters.
P.S.
Regarding what you write, whether a farbrengen at which one does not hear words of Torah is proper — the very doubt in such a case is surprising, for it is an explicit Mishnah (Avos ch. 3)[1]; and especially according to what is explained in Chassidus in several places on the matter that "wherever ten are gathered, the Shechinah rests"[2]. And although the Shechinah rests even when they do not speak words of Torah, on the other hand it is understood how essential and precious every word of Torah is that is heard at such a time of the resting of the Shechinah.
It is plain that this applies when it will not cause dispute through it (or the cancellation of the farbrengen). See the Shulchan Aruch of the Alter Rebbe, Orach Chayim, siman 53, end of se'if 23[3]; Kuntres Acharon of Tanya, at its end[4].
Notes
[1] Avos ch. 3: Avos 3:3: "Three who ate at one table and did not speak words of Torah over it — it is as if they ate of offerings to the dead."
