במענה על מכתבו מט"ו מנ"א, בו כותב שאינו יכול להמשיך להתנהג כפי חובותיו של תמים בהיותו בתומכי תמימים דלוד, ולכן מחדש עוד הפעם הסבר שיסע ללמוד בתו"ת דארצוה"ב; אף שאינו מובן מה יתוקן בזה, כיון שגם כאן תהי' הבחירה בידו כמו שהבחירה בידו בהיותו באה"ק ת"ו לקיים מ"ש ובחרת בחיים; אבל כיון שגם הרה"ח המשפיע כותב ג"כ בענין זה, הרי אם במשך שנה הבאה יתנהג כראוי למים בישיבת תו"ת דלוד ומבלי כל אמתלאות ותירוצים בזה הנני מסכים שלראש השנה תשי"ח יסע לכאן ע"מ ללמוד כראוי לתמים; ושולח הנני המכתב ע"י הנ"ל בכדי שידברו ביניהם דברים ברורים בהאמור, ויה"ר אשר זכות יעמוד לו ללכת במסילה ובדרך העולה מעלה מעלה.

In response to your letter from the 15th of Menachem Av, in which you write that you cannot continue to behave according to the obligations of a Tamim while at Tomchei Temimim in Lod, and therefore again suggest that you travel to study at Tomchei Temimim in the United States; even though it is not clear what will be improved by this, since even here the choice will be yours just as it is yours in Eretz HaKodesh to fulfill what is written: "u'vacharta ba'chayim" (and you shall choose life); but since the chassidic mashpia also writes about this matter, then if during the coming year you conduct yourself properly as a Tamim in the Yeshiva Tomchei Temimim in Lod and without any excuses or justifications in this regard, I agree that for Rosh Hashanah 5718 you may travel here with the intention of studying properly as a Tamim. I am sending this letter through the aforementioned so that they may discuss these matters clearly between them, and may it be G‑d's will that merit will stand by you to go on a path and road that ascends ever higher.
