... במ"ש בנוגע לכאב שינים, והרופאים מייעצים לעקור כו' - הנה אף שידוע מרז"ל (פסחים קיג, א) בהנוגע לעקירת שינים (ויש חסידים מספרים שלכן הרה"ג הרה"ח והרה"צ ר' הלל נ"ע מפאריטש נזהר שלא לעקור שן), אבל לא ראיתי נזהרים בזה, ואפילו לא בבית הרב. ומובן ע"פ הידוע בהנוגע להרפואות שבש"ס, ושנשתנו הטבעים. ולא עוד אלא שאסור לנסות בזה וכמובא ממהרי"ל (רע"ק ליו"ד סי' שלו).
דא"ג פעם שמעתי מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שזהו לבד* הלחש למי שנתחב לו עצם וכו' (שבת סז, א) שהיו למדים אותו אפילו לתינוקות של בית הרב, ובעת הצורך, ל"ע ול"ע, היו אומרים אותו בהקדמת העמדת קערה על הראש - ולכן אף שצ"ע אם יש לעשות בקצה האחרון, מה שמיעצו רופא אחד לעקור כל השינים ח"ו אלא להתייעץ עם עוד מומחים בזה, ואפשר מספיק אחד או שנים וכו'.

Regarding what you wrote about tooth pain and the doctors advising extraction, although it is known from our Sages (Pesachim 113a) concerning tooth extraction (and some chassidim recount that this is why Haraha"g Haraha"ch VeHaratz R' Hillel of Paritch was careful not to extract a tooth), I have not seen people being particular about this—even in the Rebbe's own household. This is understood based on what is known regarding the medicines mentioned in the Talmud, and that natural conditions have changed. Moreover, it is forbidden to experiment in this matter, as brought from Maharil (see Rema Yoreh Deah siman 331). By the way, I once heard from my revered father-in-law the Rebbe that only the incantation for someone who has a bone stuck (Shabbos 67a) was taught even to young children in the Rebbe's household; when necessary—G‑d forbid—they would say it after first placing a bowl on the head. Therefore, even though there is room for doubt whether one should do as one doctor advised—to extract all the teeth G‑d forbid—it is better to consult with additional experts on this matter; perhaps one or two more opinions will suffice.
