מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מי"ב אייר, בו כותב אודות הקב"ע שלו בת"ת, ויותר נכון אשר אין לו קביעות עתים, ומובן ופשוט שזהו היפך הנדרש, ובפרט בעניניו ובמכש"כ וק"ו ומה שבהנוגע לבו"ד, הרי במצב כזה משתדלים להפיק רצונו ולגרום לו נח"ר כו', אף שמסופקים אם היכולת בידו ואם ע"י הנח"ר ימלא הבקשה, עאכו"כ בנוגע לקוב"ה שבודאי היכולת בידו ובודאי הנחת רוח תצליח שצריך לעשות בזה ביותר וביותר, ולפלא שגם בענינים פשוטים כאלו צריכים לכתוב מעבר לים.
מובן ופשוט גם כן שכל הדברים האלו הוא גם בנוגע לחבריו, ויה"ר שימצא האותיות המתאימות בכדי להסביר להם את זה, ובמילא יתקבל בטוב גם אצלו, והעיקר שיביא בפועל בקביעות בזמן ובקביעות בנפש בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות, וכל העוסק בתורה נכסיו מצליחים שבכלל מלת נכסיו הם הרוחנים והגשמים גם יחד ומתוך מנוחת הנפש והרחבת הדעת...

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 12th of Iyar, in which you write about your fixed times for Torah study in the Talmud Torah—or more accurately, that you do not have set times. It is clear and obvious that this is contrary to what is required, especially regarding your matters, and all the more so when it comes to matters relating to others. In such a situation, one tries to fulfill another's wishes and bring them satisfaction, even if there is doubt whether it is within one's ability or whether fulfilling their wish will achieve the desired result. How much more so regarding the Holy One Blessed Be He—certainly He has the ability, and certainly bringing Him satisfaction will succeed. Therefore, one must put even greater effort into this. It is surprising that even in such simple matters one needs to write from overseas.
It is also clear and obvious that all these points apply to your friends as well. May it be His will that you find the right words to explain this to them so it will be well received by them too—and most importantly, that it will lead to actual consistency both in time and in spirit in studying both Nigleh (the revealed part of Torah) and Chassidus. Whoever engages in Torah study finds success in his possessions; generally speaking, 'possessions' refers both to spiritual and material matters together—and all with peace of mind and broadness of understanding…
