בעתו קבלתי מכתבו שמתכוננים להוציא לאור כתבי יד של זקנו הגדול הרה"ג והרה"ח נודע לשם ולתפארת מחסידי רבינו הזקן. וגודל הדבר בודאי אין די באר, ופרט בימינו אלו עת אור וחושך משמשים בערבובי' הרי בטח עת לעשות לחדש ענינים הקשורים בקדשי עם ישראל המסורתיים. ולאחר זמן הגיעוני גם גליונות הנדפסים וראיתי האור, תורה אור, כי טוב וכי מתוק, וזכות הרבים במזכי הרבים, כל אלו המשתדלים בההוצאה לאור.
ותקותי חזקה אשר כ' המוציא לאור כתבים אלו לרבים בודאי תהי' עינו טובה בשלו ללמוד בהם ולעיין בהם ולהשפיע גם בסביבתו בכיוון זה. וגדול תלמוד תורתנו תורת חיים שמביא לידי מעשה, וכיון שהטוב והקדוש הם אין-סופיים ובלי גבוליים, הרי ככל שיגדל הלימוד כן יגדל גם המעשה.
בברכה לחג הפסח כשר ושמח ולבשורות טובות, ומטובו למסור פ"ש וברכת החג לחותנו שליט"א ותודה על טרחתו בזה.
בטח ידוע לכ' מהספרי' שתחת ידי, ות"ח אם ישלח להספרי' מכל מה שהוציא לאור.

I received your letter in due time stating that preparations are underway to publish the manuscripts of your great grandfather, the renowned Rav and chasid known for his fame and honor among the chasidim of our Master the Alter Rebbe. The greatness of this matter is certainly beyond description, especially in our times when light and darkness are intermingled; it is surely a time to renew matters connected with the sacred traditions of the Jewish people.
After some time I also received printed sheets and saw the light—Torah Or—that it is good and sweet. The merit of many rests upon those who bring merit to others—all those involved in this publication.
My strong hope is that you, who are bringing these writings to light for the public, will surely have a generous eye regarding your own portion—to study them, delve into them, and influence your surroundings in this direction as well.
The study of our Torah—the Torah of Life—is great because it leads to action. Since goodness and holiness are infinite and without limit, as learning increases so too does action increase.
Blessings for a kosher and joyous Pesach and for good tidings. Please kindly convey my regards and holiday blessings to your father-in-law shlita, and thank him for his efforts in this matter. Surely you know about the library under my care; much thanks if you send to the library copies of everything you have published.
