Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter—without indication of when it was written—in which you write about the trait of alacrity and the trait of firmness of mind, which you feel are apparently not as they should be for you.
Regarding the trait of alacrity: study Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah by our master the Alter Rebbe (the second part of Tanya Kadisha), and afterwards contemplate what is stated at the beginning of Tur Orach Chaim (also cited by the Rema there): that a person's sitting, movements, and activities are not the same when he is alone at home as when he is before a great king, etc. And if this applies outside the Land [of Israel], how much more so in our holy land, may it be rebuilt and established by our righteous Moshiach. For it is not the same to be before a great king when the king is in the field as when he is in his royal palace. After contemplating this deeply once for an extended time, then whenever you need to strengthen your alacrity, recall this contemplation—its main points—and as the Alter Rebbe writes at the beginning of his Siddur: "And through this he will remember Hashem Who stands over him and will rise (from his laziness) with alacrity."
Regarding firmness of mind: study Likkutei Torah on Parshas Vayikra at its beginning (page 1 column 3) about "the agent of a person (the supernal one) is like himself," and contemplate this. By honoring mitzvos as they are his agents, contemplating this will also strengthen him in Torah-mindedness and mitzvah-mindedness.
Regarding your schedule for studying Chassidus: specify details about this to the elders among Anash in your area; according to their guidance you should act, and you will succeed.
Certainly you keep the three daily study sessions established by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—as is well known; at least from now on make sure to keep them.
Blessings.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that overcoming laziness involves deep contemplation on G‑d's constant presence and studying foundational Chassidic texts. Strengthening decisiveness comes through learning about one's role as an agent for holiness and seeking guidance from experienced mentors.
